Andersen has launched its new Quartz charger, a premium domestic charge point that featuring an all-new design and what it says is an ‘accessible’ price point.
This new charger is designed to take on the volume-seller such as Ohme, Pod Point, Zaptec and Zappi chargers with a competitive pricing along with a high quality, premium design. This follows on from last year’s launch of the Andersen A3 charger, which is more of a premium offering at a higher price.
The Quartz is available as either a socketed unit (a first for an Andersen product) so customers can use their own cable, or with a tethered cable for added convenience. It can also be specified as 7kW single-phase or 22kW three-phase to facilitate the fastest possible domestic charging.
- Available as either a socketed unit or with tethered cable
- Can be specified as 7kW single-phase or 22kW three-phase
- Over 100 colour combinations for fascia and body, plus Accoya and carbon options
- Available now from £685 (inc. VAT); £1,105 (inc. VAT) installed
The Andersen Quartz is notable for its compact design, being 34% shorter and 45% narrower than the brand’s previous smallest unit – the award-winning A3, which was launched last year.
Users will still have the option to personalise their Andersen Quartz to suit their preferences, as with any other charger from the brand. They can choose from a palette of more than 100 colour combinations for the fascia and body, ensuring the unit can blend in or stand out. There is also the option of an Accoya wood or carbon front facia trim for an even more exclusive appearance.
The unit’s electronics offer full compatibility with solar power and can make the most of low-cost electricity tariffs that enable users to ‘smart’ charge at a fraction of the cost of public charging.
The new unit can all be controlled through the refreshed Andersen app or via an optional display screen. The app also allows the user to track their energy consumption and expenditure, and schedule future charging sessions to minimise cost or environmental impact.
The new unit is hand-built at Andersen’s production facility in Bedfordshire and features highly robust and fully weatherproof cast-aluminium construction for quality and longevity. Production capacity has been more than doubled at Andersen’s facility to accommodate expected demand.
Sustainability have been considered all the way through the design and manufacturing process, and over 70% of the components built into the new unit are manufactured in the UK, helping to cut down on the ‘air miles’ involved in production.
The Andersen Quartz is available from today at £685 (inc. VAT) and fully installed from £1,105 using Andersen’s in-house team. The unit is protected by a 7-year warranty, the same guarantee that is provided with all Andersen products.
David Martell, CEO of Andersen, said: “As the EV market moves towards mass adoption, we are extending our product portfolio to meet the needs and expectations of the wider range of customers that are now looking to invest in a domestic charge point that offers style as well as functionality.
“We’ve made a significant investment in research and development and in our production facilities ahead of this launch, and we’re expecting the introduction of the Andersen Quartz to make the quality and style of Andersen home chargers available to greater numbers of discerning EV drivers.”
